  Your name, email address, and password (stored only as an Argon2id hash, never in readable form).

  Education, course of study, graduation status and year, skills, location, and the type of opportunity you are seeking.

  Listings you save, searches you save, and applications you submit.

  If you buy Early access or a listing promotion: the amount, currency charged, plan or package, and a payment reference. Card and Mobile Money details are handled by our payment processor; we do not store wallet PINs or full card numbers.

  Company details

  Employers only: business registration documents for verification, company description, logo and location.

  Technical data

  A session cookie to keep you signed in, and server logs containing IP addresses, retained for security and abuse prevention.

  To show your application, including your CV, to the specific employer whose listing you applied to. We do not make your CV browsable by employers you have not applied to.

We use a small number of processors that handle data strictly on our instructions: MongoDB Atlas (database hosting), Cloudflare R2 (file storage), Vercel (application hosting), Resend (email delivery), Hubtel (SMS delivery in Ghana), Paystack (payment processing for paid plans), and, when needed for exchange-rate display, a foreign-exchange rate provider.

Employers see only the application data you deliberately submit to them. For platform-managed listings, HireRung staff review applications before they are forwarded.

Catalog prices are shown in US dollars (USD) with an approximate Ghana cedis (GHS) equivalent. Before you pay, we convert the USD catalog price to GHS at a live exchange rate and charge that GHS amount through Paystack (Mobile Money or card). The rate used for a checkout is recorded on the payment attempt.

Paystack processes the transaction on our behalf. We receive confirmation of payment status, amount, channel and reference; we do not receive or store your Mobile Money PIN or full card number.

Under Act 843 you have the right to:

  Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it.

  Correct anything that is inaccurate or out of date.

  Withdraw your consent and have your data deleted. You can do this yourself at any time from Settings → Privacy, without contacting us.

  Object to your data being used for marketing.

  Complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

When you delete your account we remove your profile, CV files, saved listings and saved searches. Applications you already submitted are anonymised rather than erased, because employers need an accurate record of their own hiring decisions.

Account and profile data is kept while your account is open. If an account is inactive for three years we delete it. Server logs are kept for 90 days. Payment ledger rows are kept for accounting, dispute handling and fraud prevention. Anonymised application records are retained for statistical purposes.

All traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with Argon2id. Uploaded files are stored privately and served only through short-lived signed links. Sign-in and password-reset endpoints are rate limited to slow down credential stuffing.
